Job Description:

VISTAs will help develop systems and policies that encourage the sustainability of Girl Scouts GCNWI's mission of serving ALL girls, while building girls of courage, confidence, and character. Girl Scouts GCNWI needs assistance with serving underserved girls and families in the most vulnerable communities in Chicago, IL. There are specialty education programs that focus on healthy living, financial literacy (cookie program), and STEAM activities. VISTAs will focus on capacity building needs for underserved communities, particularly veterans and military families, as well as low-income youth experiencing poverty through the families who live in Chicago. VISTAs will be hosted by Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago Northwest Indiana.Member Duties:The Funds & Events VISTA will contribute to bringing financial awareness to the Girl Scouts low-income troops by assisting in training troop leaders in Volunteer Essentials for fundraising, assisting in grant writing, and helping troops meet their short-term and long-term financial goals.
