This is a permanent, full time, direct hire position with an amazing, growing company located in Chicago's near northern suburbs.  The role offers a great base salary with terrific benefits and great bonus potential.  The Engineer will be responsible for daily operations of the SaaS applications. The Engineer will have a high level of operations discipline and experience to deliver our services on a 24X7 basis to exceed customer service level agreements in our high availability and high performance application hosting environments.
 
• Administer the day-to-day operational tasks for our software suite
• Participate in application performance optimization activities
• Perform monitoring & control of global production environment
• Application expert and escalation point for Helpdesk Associates and clients
• Troubleshoot technical issues relating to configuration and data
• Work with business teams to provision new client environments
• Build and maintain operational reports and documentation
• Administer the global application & systems production operations environment
• Ensure the readiness of disaster recovery & continuity capability is maintained
• Ensure production application data is backed-up
• Support application architecture based on standards & requirements
• Comply with, and ensure compliance to, established change control and operational procedures
 
Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technology related area (master’s preferred) with good academic records
• MCSA or MCSE certification, ITIL certification preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server/Linux/Unix, F5 Load Balancers, VM ware and computer networking concepts
• At least three years of previous experience in a SaaS or web application hosting environment
• Some scripting experience (ideally Powershell)
• Highly motivated, works well in a fast paced collaborative team environment with business, technical, and user experience team members
• Strong oral and written communication skills
