Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Produce Department Supervisor to join our team at Whole Foods Market. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the scheduling and supervision of Team Members, as well as the day-to-day flow of the department. This includes overseeing and maintaining compelling produce, coffee, and juice displays, and supporting the Produce Team Leader and Associate Team Leader(s) to ensure smooth operation of the Produce Team.Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and Delegate Tasks: Supervise and delegate tasks to Produce Team Members, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Develop and Implement Training Programs: Work with the Produce Trainer to develop and implement training programs that build and sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
• Assist with Training of New Team Members: Assist in training of new Team Members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials to ensure a thorough understanding of department procedures.
• Maintain a Clean and Organized Department: Keep all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated, and ensure that the department is opened and closed according to established procedures.
• Communicate Effectively: Communicate team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader, and maintain awareness of customer flows and needs to direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
• Lead by Example: Foster and encourage a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, and consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals.Requirements
• 12+ months retail experience
• Extensive knowledge of Produce team procedures and policies
• Strong demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
• Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner
• Product knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
• Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory
• Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applicationsWorking ConditionsThe Produce Department Supervisor will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
