Job Description:
GENERAL FUNCTION: The Manager for Payments
Research & Analysis will be the strategic leader responsible for
primary payments research initiatives to identify, measure, and
communicate insights about the payments industry and align the
research withanalysis of specific business cases for growth and
expansion. Areas of focus include subject matter expertise in
payments industry trending, alignment with Fifth Third core
capabilities, linkage of trending to business opportunities and
supportdevelopment / evolution of new business
cases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Measures and reports on industry trends, payments innovation and
marketing/sales tracking studies that are predictive of business
direction and Fifth Third''s competitive position.
. Leads research initiatives in order to understand corporate and
consumer needs and behaviors relevant to Payments strategies.
Evaluates effectiveness of research suppliers by working closely
with business partners to analyze user experience.
. Provides the necessary information, direction and guidance to
manage the work activities and professional development of direct
report. Builds relationships with research suppliers and challenges
them to provide more effective and efficient deliveryof research
learning.
. Regularly reviews and analyzes competitive activity, identifying
changes in creative or media strategy. Identifies and delivers
implications and recommendations to gain competitive
advantage.
. Oversees development and evolution of business case analysis for
new market or market expansion opportunities. Work collaboratively
with Product Development and Product Management and with business
analysts to build strong assessment of
businesscases.
o Keeps current with emerging best practices in consumer research
and leads innovation to increase insight effectiveness and speed to
market.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing employees
timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing
employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging
opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developingthe
appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and
succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for
accomplishments.
